Eddie Henderson "Comin' Through"

I love Eddie Henderson's stuff...
I had the opportunity to interview him, he explained me how the record company encouraged him to work with people like paul jackson, patrice rushen etc...
herbie's headhunters was a historic sale for a jazz record, everybody wanted to make it happen again...
anyway this is a great LP , much more headhunters oriented than the previous one.
"Open Eyes" sounds like a patrice rushen tune.

"Prance On" is a track from Henderson's album 1978 "Mahal" , which I've been tying to track down as well. It's been posted at different times at El Reza and My Favourite Sound, but links are gone ......
Anyway would love to see it too.

GREAT blog here by the way :)

I have had this LP since the 80s... it was my introduction in many ways to jazz funk...

Beyond Forever is blinding.. esp Paul Jacksons unmistakable bass...

however, in many ways this LP marked the end of jazz funk and the beginning of the end for improvs as there is little evidence of soloing on the LP...

Is it true that Henderson has a medical degree. Good set, thanks.
